EIGHT AFFORDABLE HOMES OPEN TO TOUR AT SUMMER HOME SHOWCASE
Summer is just around the corner, and the Ingham County Land Bank is hosting its 2014 Summer Home Showcase. Eight homes throughout Lansing will be open from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 15 and Sunday, June 22 for the community to tour.
Walking into the homes on the tour is almost like walking into newly built houses - all are fully renovated and energy efficient with features such as all new appliances, hardwood floors, covered porches and open living spaces. Home prices range from only $53,500 to $77,000.
“Too many people think they don't make enough money to buy a house. The reality is that the Land Bank has homes suited for individuals who make $10 to $15 an hour,” explains Eric Schertzing, Ingham County Treasurer and Chairman of the Land Bank. “Our goal is to help people explore buying in a responsible way that really lets them be a part of the American dream of homeownership.”
