LANSING - The Ingham County Land Bank was named “Urban Land Bank of the Year” by the Center for Community Progress.
The land bank, chaired by Ingham County Treasurer Eric Schertzing, helps redevelop foreclosed and other unused properties.
It buys, rehabilitates and resells houses in the Lansing area in an effort to improve neighborhoods, raise property values and put properties back on the tax rolls.
The Center for Community Progress is a nonprofit with offices in Flint, New Orleans and Washington, D.C.
